Know About Our Accounting Business

Stewart Accounting Services was set up in 2009 by Mark Stewart, CA.

About Us: Mark is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). He qualified with a 4-partner CA firm in Glasgow in 1999 and has worked in various CA firms across Central Scotland. Most of his time was spent as a manager at Macfarlane Gray (now part of the French Duncan group) in Stirling.

Furthermore, Mark had a period working with a multi-million £ turnover first aid supplier as the finance manager before deciding he preferred the variety and challenges that working in practice offered.

Mark’s aim is to assist small and medium-sized businesses with all their accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax needs. Leaving them time to concentrate on running their business. Our clients are mainly based across the central belt of Scotland, though we do have clients further afield with whom we work on a remote basis.

About Us: Why Choose a Chartered Accountant?

Unlike doctors and solicitors, anyone can call themselves an “accountant” without having the necessary skills and experience you would expect an accountant to have. The title “Chartered Accountant” is recognised around the world as a professional designation indicating the highest levels of technical expertise, standards, and ethical conduct. Whether in auditing, taxation, or financial management. ICAS-qualified Chartered Accountants can be recognised by the CA after their name. Moreover, we recommend that you confirm this when seeking to appoint an accountant. The following are a few reasons why you should consider choosing a CA from Stewart Accounting Services Limited as your trusted professional accountant:

  • Firstly, professionally qualified

  • Secondly, undertake mandatory professional development

  • Bound by a code of ethics and professional standards

  • Have professional indemnity insurance

  • Have a complaints procedure in place

  • Subject to quality reviews of their professional practice

  • Lastly, regulated by their professional body
